Individual Therapy Services

The diagnostic terms we use-  mental illness or mental health disorder-  can often feel very pathologizing to describe normal human reactions.  Common emotional experiences like anxiety, depression, and post traumatic stress are often very common responses to events and experiences.  Although attitudes about mental health are changing, most people only consider therapy when there is something wrong.  Therapy is certainly a place to examine current difficulties, to explore what is going wrong, and to learn how to create change in your life.  It can also be a place to come to learn more about ourselves, to explore common themes and patterns of thought or behavior, or to examine our past and how it impacts us now.  Therapy is place to learn what may be stopping you from engaging more fully in life, at work, in your relationships, and to challenge yourself in new ways or areas.  If you are considering therapy, you probably have some questions you are looking to answer or looking for help to alleviate emotional  distress, therapy can help.

New Parent Consultation in your Home

If you have recently had a baby and are concerned that you may be experiencing a Postpartum Mood or Anxiety Disorder and you don’t know where to begin, I am available for an in home consultation to help sort out what is happening and what are some possible next steps.  It can be overwhelming for new parents to know what is normal and what is not, and have the resources to figure out a wellness plan on your own – all the while taking care of a your newborn and barely yourself!  Often there are barriers to getting an appointment – the referral you received isn’t taking new clients,  your OB, Pediatrician, and friends don’t know where you should go either – all you really want to do is talk with someone who knows, have your questions answered, and move towards feeling better.   A home based consultation is a conversation about your experiences so far – how you have been feeling and doing, and can include a brief assessment.  A consultation is different from therapy, it can be one meeting or several – and it should focus on what is happening now and what to do to feel better.

I am a preferred provider on the following insurance plans:

Premera, Regence, Humana, First Choice, Cigna, Group Health, Amerigroup, Molina, Community Health Plan, United Behavioral Health.

Before our first appointment I recommend calling your insurance company to determine your coverage.
Please confirm that:

  • I am covered at your in network rate,
  • Check to see if you have a deductible and confirm how much you have already met,
  • Check to see if you have a co-pay.

If I am not in-network with your insurance company I can bill your insurance directly, however each insurance company and plan has different out-of-networks benefits.  You will be responsible for the amount your insurance does not cover.  I would recommend calling your insurance company and asking about your out-of-network coverage along with the questions above.

Regardless of your insurance status, you are responsible for your bill, and will be billed for any services not covered.
